Lexical and thematic groups of suggestion in astrological prognostic text.

Authors: Andreev V.A.

Abstract: The study analyzes semantic and associative characteristics of the lexical-semantic field (LSF) of an astrological prognostic text. The texts of astrological forecasts featured in the Runet space and representing micro-contexts selected by the method of continuous sampling from online platforms (Rambler) and mobile messengers (Telegram) served the empirical material for the analysis. The methodological basis of the analysis was the conceptual and inferential approach to the consideration of lexical units within the framework of their compliance with the selected topical illocutionary criterion characteristics in the astrological discourse. The study also employed the field modeling method, which made it possible to delimit the zones of the core (LSF of astroterms), the perinuclear projection (LSF of emotional state and personal characteristics, LSF of prognostics), as well as the peripheral sphere (LSF of advisors, LSF of evaluative judgments). Micro- and macrosemantic elements such as astrosymbols, zodiacal symbolism and thematic onymicon promote the realization of the dominant communicative goal of providing information about expected events or characteristics of the individual and society. The interpretation of symbols and signs included in various LSF occurs in a variable manner depending on the situational and conceptual foundations of various trends in astrology and the individual preferences of the producers of astrological forecasts. The general prognostic nature of astrological forecast texts determines the use of specific terminological vocabulary in combination with lexical means of enhancing the positive component of interpretation and introducing markers of the alethic modality of possibility, which form a separate subgroup. The complex use of elements of various LSF in organic contamination in astrological forecasts allows not only to convey information, but also to form a multi-level impact on the reader.

Keywords: astroforecast, field modeling, lexical and thematic groups, prognostic discourse, suggestive potential, pralogical and pseudological argumentation, polyfunctionality of vocabulary.
